Farmers and Fishmen (ink on paper)
Liu Jue has an almost very soft and mild way of painting. His creation and depiction of scenery showcase a spacious and vast structure in his works. He allows the context of space created by the sparse elements in the paintings to shape the forms like the sky and the lake in the painting. This sort of technology allows for the appearance of peaceful and calm scenery.
The colour he uses creates a very soft and lucid appearance in his works. His control of the values he has creates an illusion of mist that has settled across the painting. He showcases two farmers as they walk into the field upon a dewy morning as they travel to the fields. The fisherman boats leave the dock as they travel to catch their fish for the day
Liu Jue has painted soft morning scenery that illustrates the peace and tranquillity of an early morning. Just as the day starts and everyone starts waking up to go about their daily lives.
